Rosa Riganti Foundation – New Wor(l)ds Project
Participation Rules
1. Scope and purpose
1.1. The Rosa Riganti Foundation (the “Foundation“) is a non-profit organization established in Switzerland which, among other things, seeks to initiate, support and promote school assistance programs for economically disadvantaged children and young people, fostering their growth and educational development.
1.2. In this respect, the Foundation has developed the “New Wor(l)ds project” with the aim of connecting young people through volunteer-based English language teaching and cross-cultural exchange (the “Project“). This Project is at the heart of the Foundation’s initiatives to promote English language learning to deserving kids in need, aged 8 to 13 located worldwide (the “Kids”).
1.3. These participation rules (the “Rules“) are specifically addressed to young students – English native-speaking or Cambridge certified equivalent aged 14 to 18 – applying as volunteers to join the Project as English teachers (“Teen Teachers“).
1.4. As part of the Project, the Foundation provides bursaries to selected schools worldwide, enabling Kids to attend free English extra-curricular activities. These bursaries are intended to help the Kids prepare for internationally recognized language certifications, such as Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers, A2 Flyers, PET or B1 Preliminary for Schools (the “Certificate“), to be taken at Anglia Ruskin University or at other officially accredited language assessment centers.
1.5. The extra-curricular activities for the Kids are divided in two categories of lessons:
- EEC Classes: lessons taught to the Kids in-person by certified English Teachers from each school of the Kids (the “EEC Classes“).
- Boosting Lessons: occasional on-line lessons taught by the Teen Teachers to the Kids (the “Boosting Lessons“).
1.6. In connection with the organization of the Project and its related extra-curricular activities, the Foundation collaborates with Centro Internazionale per l’Infanzia in Pescara, Italy (the “CII“), and its Principal, Miss Darian (also, the “Voluntary Teacher“), who assist the Foundation in the planning, execution and overall management of these initiatives. The Voluntary Teacher will appoint, coordinate, manage and integrate qualified voluntary teachers for Teen Teacher’s assessment and selection phase (together with the Voluntary Teacher, the “Panel of Examiners“).
1.7. The schools awarded bursaries, where the Kids attend to, will be communicated and disclosed from time to time through the Foundation’s official channels.
