Rosa Riganti Foundation – New Wor(l)ds Project

Participation Rules

  1. Scope and Purpose
    • The Rosa Riganti Foundation (the “Foundation“) is a non-profit foundation established in Switzerland which, among other things, aims to initiate, support and promote school assistance programs for economically disadvantaged children and young people with the aim of promoting their growth and educational development.
    • The Foundation has developed the “New Wor(l)ds project” with the aim of connecting young people through volunteer-based English language teaching and cross-cultural exchange (the “Project“). This Project is at the heart of the Foundation’s initiatives to promote English language learning to deserving kids in need, aged 8 to 13 (the “Kids”).
    • Within the Project, the Foundation will award bursaries to selected international schools to prepare the Kids to sit the Pre A1 Starters or the A1 Movers, or the A2 Flyers, or the PET or the B1 Preliminary for schools (the “Certificate“), at Anglia Ruskin University. The Foundation offers to selected schools (“Schools“) bursaries to award the Kids to attend free English extra-curricular activities (the “EEC Activities“). For the Academic year 2024-25 the Foundation chose Centro Internazionale per l’Infanzia in Pescara, Italy (the “School”; any reference to the Schools shall also include the School if not otherwise provided). The EEC Activities are divided in two categories of lessons: (i) lessons taught in-person by certified English Teachers from the Schools (the “EEC Classes“) and (ii) lessons taught by volunteer English native-speaking teen teachers – or Cambridge certified equivalent – aged 14 to 18 (the “Teen Teachers“) under the vigilance of the Schools on-line (the “Boosting Lessons“). In both cases, the Kids attend the EEC Activities at the Schools. In the forthcoming months, further Schools will be chosen in other countries to receive the bursaries and host the Kids for the EEC Activities.
    • The Teen Teachers will be chosen by Mrs Darian (the “Voluntary Teacher“) and other voluntary teachers (together with the Voluntary Teacher, the “Panel of Examiners“). The Foundation will collect applications from young individuals interested in becoming Teen Teacher and will liaise with the Panel of Examiners for the selection phase and the possible assessment and, if the outcomes are both positive, with the School or the Schools to inform about the Teen Teacher selected by the Panel of Examiners.
  2. Acceptance of these regulations
    • These participation rules (the “Rules“) outline the criteria and procedures to apply as voluntary Teen Teacher including the rules (i) to be assessed (the “Assessment“), (ii) and to be selected (the “Selection Process“), and (iii) for the performance of voluntary Boosting Lessons.
